If you missed last weeks club meeting, you may be surprised to learn that the Club had a discussion about the merits of moving our annual show from Hot Springs to Little Rock for 2009.  After a very energetic meeting discussing the pros and cons of moving the show, the Club voted to move the show for 2009 to Little Rock.  There will be a lot of challenges for us to make this show another success.

 

Carol Dolan representing the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau provided our Club a proposal describing what the City of LR can do for our show.  First and foremost, they have committed to providing us with a $5,000 contribution.  This will provide us a great start on our 2009 Show.  They will also provide us with branded pole banners, waiver of fees for use of the River Market District Park and Pavilions and help in coordinating a Host Hotel package.  Unfortunately, the only remaining available date is May 7-10.  Therefore we will move our annual show date to this new date for 2009.  This will eliminate us from having a conflict with the Super Chevy Show in Memphis but will also create some challenges since it is Mothers Day weekend.

 

Our top priority at this point is to complete our show brochure.  We need to determine our events and time line of activities so that we can prepare this years brochure.  Our initial meeting will be at American Pie Pizza in Maumelle on Tuesday, July 15th at 6:30pm. We have attempted to have some meetings at locations other than our standard meeting place at Landers to help make it more convenient for our members. Hope to see all of the Committee Chairpersons there and all those Club Members interested in helping out.
